don't lift weights, just run alot and condition exercises, jumping rope is excellent, eating right also helps, i suggest a high protein diet -

it is not hard to lose weight and gain strength at the same time.
adding pounds and pounds of muscle in unrealistic but with good strength training and cardio mixes with a high protein, high fiber diet you can maintain or increase your strangth while dieting.
last year i went from weighing 235 pounds and bench pressing 200 to weighing 185 pounds and bench pressing 275. It took about 6 months of dedicated workouts.Comment

if u want to become 165 but with more muscle, i suggest you first go on high kcal diet for 5 weeks, ad 5lbs muscle until you are 180lbs, then cut down to 165. But then you really need to train with weights for 5 weeks after that you only need to do cardio and.Comment
