Man! And you were the one who thought I listened to Stomin's posts being read out through my ipod during sparring... i'm starting to form a conclusion.

Hands up = better defence = hit less = less head injuries = less pain in head area = less headache.

      markeeta,
I realize that. You can form all the conclusions you want, but if the original poster said he hadn't been sparring, I was curious to see why P4P mentioned holding your hands up. I can walk around with my hands up all the time, look like a tit, and still have a headache. Read the original poster's post more carefully next time.

hmm headaches after sparring are a bad sign

( btw i know the thread starter isnt getting headaches from sparring just pointing it out) ive taken some hard shots in the ring ,from bigger guys too, and ive never had headaches (but then again i like to think ive got a pretty good chin and im reasonably tough lol) so if youre getting them, its time to pay the doc a visit

or better yet, improve ya defence, seriosuly keeping hands up between punches is basic but it works

i used to drop my hands a bit and rely on head movement and reflexes which didnt always work......

and now my new coach has got me keeping my hands up all time (especially inbetween punches as thats when most ppl get hit) and adopting a turtle shell winky wright sort of guard, i hardly ever get hit, it works really well

once i had it so bad, i coulda swore a vein in my brain burst and i could feel a pool of blood rolling around in my skull.. that happened when i got pushed a little too far too soon. when youre doing pushups and you really strain hard and hold your breath it seems unhealthy. if all the veins in your head and neck pop out the ones in your brain are probably exploding

if you get them after you work out you should probably talk to your trainer and to your doctor. a caution about the doctor, he'll just tell you to stop, get a reason.
