Shadowboxing with weights won't really improve your technique. It will improve your speed a little but mostly your endurance. As far as how much goes i guess it depends on you. Personally im a heavy weight and i use 1.5kg weights to shadowbox.

the heavier you go the more your technique will fail. start with 1k and move upwards. i have handweights that wrap around my wrists or ankles and i have decided to do all my shadow boxing and warm ups with them. they are awesome.

Use elastic rope, can use it to pull out your punches quicker or add resistance to the punching motion.
