No one ever said it could suddenly advance, as a matter of fact, I posted the exact opposite. It comes with hard work and dedication. If you think you punch the exact same speed now as when you first walked into the gym, you either haven't improved or you have a mental problem.

I also already posted everything that I was about to type here, so I am not going to post it again. It's time for you to click back a couple pages and quote me on things you disagree with.

What so your saying how fast I punch now is going to be that handspeed for the rest of my life?

                @ Hindu
5 months but been watching boxing and learning it outside the gym from friends etc for like 5 years, starting going to a gym 5 months ago.

However thats basically saying the day roy was born, he had world class hand speed... Thats not right is it? I always thought you had to train yourself to keep at a consistant handspeed at least? When I started before I understood techniques, everybody was dodging and parrying me, but now I got handspeed its changed a bit, I can get past parrys, blocks and slips.

edit: oh should of mentioned, i'm aware its impossible for the less-talented to reach Roy Jones handspeed. However Roy still had to train to get at his handspeed, I'm aware that 9/10 the person will NEVER reach his handspeed no matter how hard he trained, but that person CAN peak his handspeed, whether its a millsecond faster or whatever, it can be improved.

of course roy couldn't punch as fast when he started boxing, but once he learned the proper technique of punching you could see he was fast. I think if u aren't fast in the first couple of years you will never become fast. your timing and explosivnes will improve and that helps to with you being able to hit an opponent but i don't think the pure handspeed can be improved after a certain point.
