Hand speed is largely determined at birth. It has to do with percentages of each type of muscle fiber that your muscles are composed of. However, you can improve your hand speed by increasing the size and strength of the fast twitch fibers as well as improving your punching technique.

lol roy jones wasn't born with quick hands, he had to develop himself to become a quick fighter. (however it means he could develop himself better than the average person).

everyone can get better at improving speed, just not roy jones type speed.

Once again, handspeed can be taught. Of course Roy Jones Jr. was faster then most will ever be, he worked on it since he was how old? And yes, fast twitch muscles help, but what the **** does that have to do with this teenage kid in a gym trying to improve his handspeed?

"HANDSPEED CAN'T BE TAUGHT" is almost as ****ing ****** as "LIFTING WEIGHTS IS TERRIBLE FOR BOXING!!"

Roy Jones was born with the talent to have handspeed better than others while others worked as much as him, or even more. He still had to work on it.

What point? Is there somewhere along the way that your body says "LOL NO MORE FASTURRRRRRRRRR"? No.

It's the 21st century, grow up.
