    Cleto Reyes Gloves

I'm going to get a pair of Cleto Reyes gloves 16oz, but I am still working out who to buy them from and what type to get.

I know there are poor quality ones out there and different places sell different versions. Any advice on this would be good.

Also, has anyone used the laceups with the velcro strap? Can you put these on by yourself or are they the same hassle as normal laceups?

    Cheers

ay maaaaaaan i had the pro trainin 14 oz hook and loop..if you lookin for a glove that provides lots of protection, this aint it..the padding is thin as hell and the wrist was kinda loose to. but it might be different if you get it in lace. but you can really feel your punches in these gloves thats about the only thing i like about it though.

I tried the lace ups on today and I sure know why people don't like sparring with people who wear them. The velcro ones just aren't the same fit as the lace ups though.

i don't know if you know this but, the cleto reyes gloves are stuffed with a mixture of horse hair and foam as opposed to conventional gloves, with multiple layers of foam. the horse hair does not absorb as much shock from a punch as a standard foam padding would. While fighting with these gloves gives an obvious advantage to the wearer, i would not recomend training in them.

I wouldn't use them to train, the protection is not as good as other gloves like peewee1460 and fighting flip said.

Personally i would suggest a pair of rival gloves, or title gloves if you think rival are too expensive.

I just ordered a pair RB1 ultra bag glove, haven't received them yet.

They even make pink gloves with flowers on them for girls.

The gloves I use at the moment are fine, but we are talking about Reyes gloves here. This isn't a need, this is a want.

Equilibrium, where's your crib? Ima gonna come around and ***** slap you man.

Anyways if I punch like a girl then my Reyes aren't going to hurt any of the guys I train with, right?

even fighters who wear reyes for fights train in more protective gloves. why risk breaking your hand or injuring a knuckle in sparring?!? oscar, cotto, pac, margarito all use winning gloves for training for instance...

I just do what works for me. Not what certain pros do. If I decide not to train in them no worries, I can easily switch. They are just damn good gloves and I want them on a very superficial level.
