I was thinking of dropping some cash on these. I like the way they turn in with the pushup, like a punch, that's the only reason I want them really. It looks to be an effective exercise......better than regular pushups, but all I've been doing are clap pushups and finishing the sets with regular pushups, 15clap pushups and like 15-20 regular pushups...

What are you talking about? A technique or a peice of equipment? WTF are perfect push ups. If they are push up bars that isolate your chest, then **** 'em! You need strenght in your forearms especially for boxing. Best thing to do is knucle press ups as they are closest to punching form. You will work all the same muscles as you do in a punch and stabilise your grip too, which prevents injuries from a weak tense on impact.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... I USE THESE FOR A MONTH AFTER EVRY FIGHT.. BUT CLOSE THIS THREAD... I DON'T LIKE TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THEM.
not good to use them about 2 weeks b4 your fight.. your not gonna get stroger if ya start 2 weeks b4 ya fight... but after every fight i go into an almost everyday routine of pull-ups running and perfect push-ups... alot of dips too...
2 weeks before the fight is constant punches and moving.

It is taking pressure of forearms to make it easy. A shortcut and a gimmick for bums if you ask me. Knuckle press ups are closest to boxing form and is therefore a sport specific exercise. SSE's help work the same muscles used in competiion during training and will make you better at that sport. This is bollocks and for bums that do not want to work hard. Same goes for push up bars.

As for the topic, i haven't tried those, but from what i understand they make punch ups easier so i don't think it's all that good.

If you want to build some serious strength and balance try psuedo planche press ups. Even better, you don't have to folk out any extra cash!
You basically have your hands right down at your waist with your fingers pointing towards your feet. You have to keep your whole body rigid and it takes a lot of core strength to keep strict form. The idea behind this push up is to build the strength and balance needed to do a full planche press up where your legs are completely off the floor and your entire bodyweight is balancing on your arms. Believe me, psuedo planche press ups themselves require alot of upperbody strength. I've read that doing a full planche press up is likened to bench pressing double your body weight. Google it or check it out on youtube.
Also check out pike, hindu and handstand push ups.
At the moment I mainly do psuedo planche push ups and pike push ups alongside my variations of chin ups.

P.S. There nothing wrong with push up bars to be honest. Try a planche on them and then tell us all they're a load of rubbish.
