  • Healthy Meat Question?

    hello guys.

i'm "training" myself just now to get fit. nothing like a marthon or a boxing match at the end of it...i just want to get a bit more muscle definition and build my stamina up.

but im not sure about the meat i am eating?

i eat alot of meat like lamb chops and pork like bacon and sausages....most of my nighttime meals contain some sort of meat....but how much is too much?

any suggestions on good low fat meats to eat?

i usally fry them on a griddle pan.(so its just like grilling them but a bit quicker)

i usally eat two of whatever at a time(like two lamb chops with seasoning)

is this too much or should i cut down?

    thanks

p.s. any recipies would be great thanks!(i suck at cooking)

Try and start eating white meat more often, like chicken and also lots of fish. Has less fat and is far healthier for you than red meat.

If you really like red meat though try and eat the leanest cuts you can. i only really eat red meat if its a special occasion or I'm a guest at someones house and they cook it for me. Every day of the week its chicken and fish for me otherwise.

there'll be a fair few recipes in the recipe thread up top.

Big thing is how you cook the meat as well. Don't fry it. Instead, choose healthier methods of cooking, like steaming, baking, and boiling. Don't add salt if you can. No oil as well.

Chicken is better than red meat, but red meat is ok to have as well, if it is lean.

I would recommend fish, salmon to be specific. Not fried either, baked or steamed is better.

Lamb ,pork ,bacon and sausage is probably the worst meat's you can buy.I've never heard of any athletes who eat sausage .I've read about a bodybuilder who eats lamb because he says all the saturated fat gave him energy. The only athletes I know of that eat bacon and pork are strongmen, they eat loads of pork bacon and chocolate bars ,high fat high protein diets.Read the nutrition value on the meat you buy.Eat high protein low fat meat.

chicken(skinless), lean cuts of steak or lamb, tuna, salmon that sort of stuff

sausage is pretty bad for ya, too fatty, as are cold cuts like berliner, devon, salami, pastrami and that crap
