I have a treadmill and I usually run on that but im thinking of running in my neighborhood. Im trying to loos 15-10 lbs. So my question is What would be better running on the treadmill or running in the summer heat. I live in texas so right now the high is 100-102 degrees and the low is about 83 degrees. But if i do run outside i will run around 8 p.m. (its about 88 degrees then) Im thinking of running both ways. cuz If i wait til 8p.m. I will only have like 45 mins b4 its completely dark in my neighborhood. If i run like one hour in the morning (treadmill) then run for 45mins at 8p.m.(outside) is that too much.

anyways I reccomend running outside, do it in the morning if you're an early riser, or if you're like me and dont do well in the mornings, go to the gym in the afternoon and run at about 9 pmLast edited by dfwtx; 07-28-2008, 11:51 AM.

Treadmill pushes you off and does not have same impact on your muscles as tarmac. It is the easy way out. **** air con and fancy poncy gyms. A months membership will get you trainers that last a year! Boxing Club and tarmac is all you need! Don't let the gym be an excuse for a shortcuts which is what a treadmill really is!Training twice a day is not too mcuh if you have proper rest. I would however recommend running in morning and doing other stuff at night. Variety will make you fitter quicker.

anyways , I run outside with sweat pants and long sleeve shirt for like 3 to 4 miles and its always better to run in the heat..u said u were running alsmot 2 hours a day u have to be careful about overtraining.. my head coach at the gym pushes out nationally ranked amatuers and trains luis collazo and has worked with jaidon codrington and he always tells me to relax, he stresses the importance of not overtraining, like yesterday i worked out for like 2 and a half hours and asked if i could run later that day and he said no.. i only started training like 3 months ago so that may be another reason why hes telling me to take it easy
im in NYC so our highs are anywhere from 80 to 95 i run in late afternoon after work and only on my off gym days.. its been a hot summer here for us..Last edited by JoHnNyBoXeR; 07-29-2008, 07:36 AM.

If you want to train your legs go do squats instead of running...
If I'm wrong please educate me.
