I basically agree with every word in your post, sukhenboy. Footie practice was a joy, boxing training is hell on earth.

            mgkirk,
I enjoy the actual boxing...fighting, sparring. Just the workouts are so tough that I don't look forward to them. I agree with you that it is a sport, but, unlike sports like basketball, tennis, football, the workouts are so intense that it's difficult to genuinly enjoy them.

Stop acting like a tough guy, everyone gets nervous. Some more than others, but everyone feels it. "Why?" because its natural, everyone does and your lying if you say you dont. Ive had almost 20 fights and sparred thousands of rounds and i still always feel a little nervous before sparring. Doesnt mean i dont like it, i look forward to it too, but im still always a little nervous before getting in there.

                    Get me a medal.

Why would you be scared of sparring? You worried your not good enough or that your gnna get hurt. Which wont happen in sparring unless you dont have a coach. There is nothing to be scared about if you have faith in your abilites you would trust yourself will be good enough to cope.

                    *****.
