A friend of mine said a great way to strengthen your core is to suck your stomach to your back while running. I find I get incredibly winded when trying to do this. Especially since I like to shadow box while running. So as if that wasn't hard enough I tried this whole sucking my stomach to my spine **** and nearly passed out. Am I just not fit enough to pull this off yet or is dude jerking my chain?

I do the opposite. I actually push out a bit on my stomach when I'm running and in the ring. If you suck your gut in, you're losing 25-30% of your lung capacity. You want to hold your abs a little tight but not crank down on them.

it is a good simple exercise to suck in stomach. it increases the elasticity of your ab muscles and aids in toning - i think it might help jumpstart metabolism.
don't do it while running! do it before crunches and ab exercises. before running is ok as it will loosen up your diamphram which will aid u in breathing deeper and smoother while running.
