use the 40 bag, throw combos on it. don't load up on your shots, just think about throwing quick slapping punches like calzaghe or the drag queen, u'll get faster

There were some russians who did a study doing this:
10 punches (ie jab)
10 punches (ie jab) with light handweighs (2-4lbs)
10 punches (ie jab)
short break
It didnt say the volume or frequency but they improved their single punch handspeed by 20-40% with already conditioned fighters. Ive been doing it for 2 months and its at least helped with power. I'll retest my speed again soon and tell you how well it worked.
Another one is ross's handspeed drill. I havent felt any real gain from it but who knows. I havent been consistant with it either.
3-5 sec isometric wall punch (start position)
3-5 sec isometric wall punch (middle position)
6x 3-5lb Med ball punch (throws)

dude id use as many techniques u can get on this thread.
use:
*strectch rubber cables
*speeball - though its really not for spead but itll help timing and the consistency of accuracy
*shadow boxing with 1 kilo weights
*40 bag and try hittin the bag nonstop with a goals of so many punches (best if u have some1 else at side countin for u)
the last 1 i saw Floyd Mayweather do... i assume it helps with consistency and i spose itll help u not become too tired too easily when using speed as a main attribute during a fight. having said that i dont think u should fixate on an attribute anyway, so havin said THAT - still work on ur power just as much as anythin else.
but yeah just use as much as u can if ur actually thinkin of improvin ur speed unless u just asked the original question out of curiousity ...

I used to work on combinations on the speed bag, trying to throw them as fast as possible without missing a beat.
Shadow boxing with weights definitely helps. Use heavier gloves for everything you. By the time you go down to the 8oz or 10oz gloves for fighting they will be light as hell.
