I'm about to buy some new sparring gloves, at my gym we use 14 oz. but I was wondering whether this is uniform across all gyms because i'm about to shift places for a few months and I don't want to get there them say 14 oz. is too light. I'm just thinking 16 oz. might be abit big for a 6ft 152lb guy, is 14 oz. cool in all of your gyms?

Yeah.. We use 14 or 16 .. Whichever... No less than 14 and no more than 16..
If your worried if your other gym will acept 14's then go for 16's. 16's are the safer option as all gyms allow them but I think most gyms allow 14..
TBH I dont think it will make a different, but 16 is the safer option.. Also, using 16's will make you feel faster when you take em off for lighter gloves ;D -
Cool cheers, i've gone for 14s because I know these are good because these are the ones i've worn at the gym to spar in and these are the ones they sell etc, i'm guessing the 16s are just as good just bigger but I just trust what i've seen.Comment

14s will be fine. 16s are the most widely accepted but we go as low as 12s at our gym depending on the intensityComment
