  • I'm falling apart!

    Jesus Christ.

My knee today just gave way to excrutiating pain on the stairs when i put full weight on it.. the aching - i've gotten from running has got alot worse. It's really developed.

Its comes and then goes rapidly but it's awful and I can't whatsoever run on it. Anybody know what this is/had it before?

Got any alternatives to running that I can do?

Oh yeah- i'm still mobile, can hit the bags, skip, shadow box, spar with no discomfort whatsoever.

    Can anyone help?

Stop your running for a few weeks, Make up with it with Skipping and up your rounds on the bag to keep your stamina up to par, After a few weeks go for a slow run ... If the pain persists get to the doctors.

Well skipping is like a slower version of running, try that. Or use a treadmill a lot easier on the joints. Alternative to running could be walking fast?

Did it hurt as you leant forward going up the stairs or as you eased off on one foot? Your knee may just have locked itslef and a few squats or stretches could sort it out.

Get yourself to doctor and i suggest you don't train the injured muscle group until you do get the ok. Try doing more upperbody work to compensate, i.e. press ups, pull ups and/or general core work.
Personally im always worried about injuring/straining/spraining myself when im training, when i was 17 i sprained my left abductor muscle in my left leg, i decided to continue training on it and i got myself 8 months of physio and pain. Damn i hated that.

No, it wasn't a locking out. It was like someone pushed a knitting needle throug the flesh part of my knee joint! made me jump up and show "****ING HELL FIRE!" which the kids coming out of there classes just loved. I've been hammering the running lately... it's definitely a result of that.

I'm gonna lay off the running. When i'm off for the summer term holiday, i'm going to go swimming once a day, get a few miles a day in the pool then train.

I don't think ya could have described it worse lol.

Yeah swimming would be good for ya. Maybe cycling but your still stretching the legs but not putting weight on them.

It seems your navy days are now over, sailor.
