K... No one cares about these dumb boxing glove threads. If you like them buy them.

^^ stfu, i dont know gloves that well but what i was told is to save money on bag gloves (go for adidas $50 ones) and instead buy better sparring gloves when the time is right

I've heard a lot of good things about the 49.99 Ringside Super Bag gloves on there (the red and white ones).

My buddy's got a pair of 10oz Ringside amateur competition gloves - they were broken in soooo nicely and the foam (foam fill not horsehair) was amazingly protective for being a competition glove, being so light, and being so old. If the Ringside super bag gloves are anything like that, i totally recommend them.

I have a pair of the $109 Grant super bag gloves from that site too (actually got them through grant's site). They're very light weight and the padding sometimes doesn't feel enough; eventho fit-wise they're my favorite gloves. I've bruised my knuckles a few times with 'em and usually wear some sort of knuckle guard to be safe. I think the Grant fill can stiffen up from lack of use, so it takes a good week or two to get it to loosen up again and be more shock absorbing - or maybe it's me readjusting.

As far as Reyes, I've used their 14 and 16 ounce lace up training gloves available through ringside and I didn't think too much of 'em. Dropped someone with a body shot with the 14s and the 16s never fit. Neither pair had an abundance of knuckle protection for heavy bag work and neither were that nice to partners.

I don't like switching gloves for sparring coz in a muay thai gym a lot of times you don't have time to. So lately I've been using dual purpose gloves on a 3 or 4 glove rotation to keep them from breaking down. When gloves are wet they break down more, so that's why i have the rotation. The best gloves I've found for this use are IMF Tech training gloves (16oz) - they refuse to break down; the padding still feels new (but broken in) after a year of heavy abuse.

The other gloves I'm trying to work into this rotation are Top Ten sparring gloves and Title Gel Training gloves. Just got the Top Tens and so far they are working nicely. Gloves that didn't fair so well in this rotation are Grant lace up training gloves (not campeon) and Twins elastic enclosure training gloves. The Grants are a similar situation to the Reyes 16s, with a slightly better fit. The Twins don't even feel like actual Twins gloves, rather, a terrible, terrible Title knock off. I still use the Grant super bag gloves on days I know will be mostly pad & bag work, with no actual contact sparring.

hope this helps. that's a lot of money to spend if you don't know what you're getting into.

Towelie sounds like the type of guy that's been using the same athletic-store purchased cheapo-everlast gloves for all of his training (bags and sparring) for the past 2 to 3 years, while he busts up his training partners and thinks it's because of his great boxing ability.

If you're concerned about them not being padded enough, buy 14 ozs...Besides, quality ones wont appear that padded because they use better shock absorbing materials. Cheaper ones are either solid or big as **** despite their oz.
