  • Recommended heavy bag gloves

i'm in need of some heavy bag gloves because the ones they have at da gym are all torn up and smell like ****, lol.

What I really need to know is what size because when i looked dem up on the internet i saw dat there are different sizes...large and medium. da ones from my gym are these: Everlast Bag Gloves ...now i dont know what size they are but they fit my hands well and seem to fit everyone elses hands well. BUT...i dont want identical because i dont want dem to get mixed with da ones dat belong to da gym and arent real comfortable.

    Im thinking about:

Erm, are you asking us whether you need large or medium?...It kind of just depends on your hand size. I have size Large but other than that I don't know what to tell you...

As for bag mitts, you're doing the right thing by setting a limit. Sorry but when I see people spending like £50 on bag gloves I think they're ****** and are buying them for no other purpose than to look good. I get that they're softer and more comfortable but seriously if people who box can't deal with their knuckles being a little pink after a training session how the **** are they going to get into the ring? At the end of the day, mitts are designed for bag work and there's no need to have gloves on the bag, which is exactly why mitts exist and exactly why mitts are thin...Saying this, the extra oz. does help with endurance...None the less, if you use gloves, like me, you don't need suited up super soft comfortable gloves which is shown by the very fact that mitts were designed specifically for bags and these specifically designed mitts are reasonably thin.

I personally don't like Mitts too much, they're good for practicing shots at speed but when I first stepped in the ring for a spar, after only ever using mitts before, it just felt totally different. I wasn't used to holding a guard up with these big gloves up etc. etc.

Lonsdale are a pretty reasonable and cheap make. Alot of stuff Lonsdale make is crap, their standard handwraps are useless and probably counter-productive, wearing their trainers is like slapping your feet on the floor and well to be honest I don't really trust their "out of the ring" equipment but their boxing boots look decent and their gloves are quite well padded and soft. My lonsdale mitts were nice, soft and well padded, my Everlast mitts were pretty solid, the Lonsdale ones being cheaper. So, have a look at those/

            Hope this helps.

Well I got these: http://www.ringside.com/detail.aspx?ID=25732 by UPS today and to say...they dont feel cheap at all. Real durable and comfortable. Kind of larger than I expected tho but still good.

I personally wouldn't trust other than actual leather but you might as well give them a go, see how they work out for you.
