  • For me there are plenty of things inside and outside the gym.

    Inside
    1. There ain't no weights in my gym, I always have to do it at home which kind of sucks
    2. When people just sit down and do nothing after 5 minutes they started their workout
    3. When my chairman don't even tell me how to use the equipments.
    Outside
    1. WHen people who doesn't do boxing and play UFC undisputed thinks that they're good at boxing than I am (I got beaten that time, I never sparred lol)
    2. When people DISS boxing and think MMA is better. Boxing is a serious sport, it's way different than having *** in the octagon.

you sound like a liar man like the 40 year old ****** movie. Who the *** throws there gloves off in sparring? Ive never seen that happen. In the many gyms ive been to we wear laced gloves when sparring and you cant just rip them off lol. Also who talks non-stop during sparrin? What you talking about man?
I think he is confusing the local YMCA boxercise class with a real boxing gym. I also have never seen someone throw their gloves off during sparring or talk during for that matter.

        • I get annoyed by pity compliments. When I do bad in sparring, I might get told I did well or I did this or that right when I feel I clearly had a bad session. I'm happy to have really friendly people in my gym but sometimes I feel treated like a baby. I'm always open to advice but I don't like the sugarcoating.

          • People who deliberately wrestle into a clinch and hit on the tacit break. Because there is no actual ref to call break, normally you have that moment where you and your partner tacitly agree to break the clinch, and then he ****ing hits you with a cheap shot! I understand doing it in a match if the ref didn't break it up, but doing that with your sparring partner is taking a full on unneeded advantage over you.

I also get those squirrely new-comers who's footwork is all over the place, and then they end up behind and punch you in the back of the head. I'm not talking about just rabbit punching, either.

            • This is a great thread man props

Crazy people who try to take your head off during sparring happens to me all the time lately with the guy i been sparring with

New guys who think the farther you make the heavy bag swing the more badass you are as they wind up and throw their right that takes a full 3 seconds to land

People who shout at you what to do when youre sparring when they themselves have no clue.

              • People in lower weight classes who throw bombs and try to take your head off just because they weight a few less pounds then you.

Heavyweights who spar with 12 oz. gloves, not a fun time. You weight 230 pounds, why are you not wearing 16 ouncers?

Kickboxers who come train and they don't wear shoes, and then complain that you stepped on their toes.

                • Everyone is pretty cool most of the time. Sometimes there would be guys who try and showboat during sparring which is idiotic, it's for practice.

                  • I hate it when other coaches try to tell your boxers what to do and were working on something specific.

I hate it when some coaches try to take your boxers

I hate it when some coaches and their boxers go in the ring to do floor exercises and others have to wait for them to finish so that they can spar or shadow box

I hate so call coaches that don't know **** about boxing and throw their kids to spar without teaching them defense first

I hate boxer who quit, wine, make excuses and complain that everything hurts

                    • Not sure if this has been said but...

when a newcomer brings his girlfriend to the gym. Or really anyone for that matter. I can kinda understand someone who might bring their kid (to give them a small feel of being in a boxing gym, or to spend some time with them after their day job) but some dudes look like they were just chilling with their girlfriend and then said "hey i gotta go to the boxing gym, wanna come with?"

                      Thats pretty annoying.
