Handwraps really do matter. When I started I just thought all a handwrap was, was just some fabric in a strip so I bought some cheap like £2-3 Lonsdale ones which were awful. They used to loosen up and be really thick, lead to me hurting my wrist quite abit and they would rub on my knuckles and on my right hand lead to a chunk of skin being basically cut out with a hole in my knuckle which is only just healing like 5 weeks later. My gym recommended some, I bought them and they're awesome.

I don't know anything about the specific ones you've got but handwraps should be thin and stretchy. If they work for you, use 'em.

I had the same problem. I bought the Everlast mexican style handwraps when I first started fighting back in 2004, and they worked great at first, but over time I started having problems with them. At one point, I ended up bleeding profusely from both knuckles during a bag session, and I had to stop for about a week or two because of the loss of skin around my middle knuckle. I think it also had something to do with me wrapping improperly, but needless to say, I got some new handwraps and they are working out great. I usely wrap my hands with a small amount of toilet paper first, then put the handrwaps over that.

I was using these mixed martial arts ones they weren't bad they were different material too but the grant ones are better. It seems no matter how much I workout the wraps hardly get very wet either which is very nice
