Well I this friday it'll be 2 weeks since I started going to the boxing gym. I go 3 times a week for about 2 hours. Most of the first hour I do skipping the rope, some shadow boxing (jabs are the only thing I know. Trying to perfect it too), heavy bag (jabs, again. And I try to circle around it and do double jabs, etc) and the speed bag. The rest of the time the coach gets there and has us doing pushups, crunches, squats, shoulder endurance exercises, conditioning stuff as well as drills and working on technique. Well one thing that bothers me when throwin jabs to the mirror is that my elbow makes a weird sound like it when you crack your knuckles, but not nearly as loud, but still audible. What's up with that? Am I doing something incorrectly or is it that my body I still getting used to this?

On another note I would like to perfect the footwork... today I "sparred" for the first time so to speak... It was a seasoned fighter and he didn't really throw anything back at me, but he did tap me every now and then and he pushed me around so I had to push back and try to hit him but he was so damn quick... I feel like I didn't hit ****... I tried the one-two's we did right before with the pads and the double jabs as well as right hands, and sometimes I tried and I just lost my footing sometimes... What should I be doing at home to correct this loss of balance (it's all technique, I know.) I think I leaned in and I gotta stop that. I don't do it when I hit the heavy bag, though. I know I'm new at this, but I want to get better, man. Next week, It'll be the same thing and some day I'll be sparring for real (hopefully soon), and I want to do alright.

The coach did say the changes I need to make (like what to do when I got him against the ropes... he let himself against the ropes and at the moment I wasn't really thinking about how to not let him out), but I dunno how to work on them without a partner/at home. And wednesdays are the only sparring days. I'm just pissed and want to get better quick... I feel like the only way would be doing this over and over again so I don't even have to think about it, cause I know that when the moment comes I'll probably forget and just do what I have "programmed" in my head. But that'll take way to long cause we only do this once a week.

You heard the cracking noise in your elbow because you are not moving your shoulders. When you try to lean abit to the right and see what happens.
