  • Sparring Revenge

Well today I sparred some kid that previously ****ed me up giving me a bloody nose. After that he must've thought he was sum type of Zab Judah r sumthin cuz he didnt show up to da gym anymore for like 3 whole weeks like he dont have to...or maybe he was really busy..lol..whatever. But anyways i've been workin at da gym while he's doin whatever he's doin in the outside world and the coach asked me to spar him again today. I was a little nervous because I did get ****ed up the first time.
So first round...im feelin him out a little, throw a couple punches and all of a sudden i say to myself..."wow why did i lose the first time". Im tellin you he had his hands down the whole time and im juss taggin him up witt jabs and ****. I dont attack people in the corner tho...i often throw sum punches and back up so he can gain his composer (dis is sparring, not golden gloves)...den da bell rings. round 2 and 3...omg...i juss jump on him. combinations left and right he has, horrible defense, plenty of open shots.but he did catch me with a couple too many open shots. at least i aint bleed dis time, lol. i couldnt lose either...i'd b pissed to let a "non-boxer" beat me. it was my 2nd time sparring.
but i still feel like i need work on my footwork becuase i was losin my stance from time to time and crossing my legs when "running" around. dats one thing dey pointed out alot. and i often drop my hands...but dats because i was confident sparring him. but a more experienced boser would **** me up. but anyways..im still working, still gettin better. i'll b boxing till it kills me.

hellyeah, i, love that feelin, like this one time, i had been bopxing for about 6 months and this fairly inexperienced guy got some good punches on me, he was alot bigger but i was just fighting him the wrong way.....so few weeks later we sparred again, i completely outboxed him, made him miss, backed him up a few times, tagged him hard. after that we became regular sparring patners and i whooped him nearly every time just by being smart and sticking to the outside before closing in and punishing him. did wonders for my confidence

Good on you man! Must be a great feeling, and a good measure of your progression.

              Dance circles around them, berg!

They should be more mature though. I doubt they'll punish you on your first sparring session. They'll probably be working more on their defense, while you try to tag them. Good luck man.

Today I really got my ass kicked in a spar. He was prob 230-240lb, ex pro, 6ft 2-3, ate me alive, he's a coach so one by one we were picked off but I was so annoyed at when faced with someone like that I just drop everyone, stance, guard, transfer of weight in a shot, I think I got one body shot and one weak one to his jaw, other than that it was about 50 shots at my face for about 1.5 mins until another coach stopped it, seriously got my ass whooped but it's all part of the learning curve and I was fine afterwards, got out of the ring and then carried on training for another 1.5 hours or so.

I swear to god, he was impossible to touch, just moved around the ring really well and, just before it was stopped I swung, missed, got hit twice, he moved around me and did a combo and then another coach just said to stop. It was like fighting a ghost haha. To be honest, I was kinda glad the other guy stopped it because I wasn't doing anything right so I wasn't learning anything besides how not to do it and I was just getting hit in the process haha.
