  • Tell me what you think.....

I am new to boxing and may want to pursue a amateur career in it but I guess time will tell. Right now this is my situation. I am 5'10 and weigh about 215, I am pretty solid but I have a gut and a good amount of body fat. I am not concerned about my actual weight right now because I just want to get down to a healthy body fat %. The largest portion of body fat is on my lower abs and I don't know but it seems to gather there especially because I have a ton of stretch marks there. I just want to get rid of fat and have made changes to my life in the past week.

I am now drinking at least a gallon of water a day.
I have cut bread out of my diet.
I am only eating whole foods.
I am eating a large portion of vegetables and fruit.
I'm jumping rope for about a half hour a day.

I have some questions about some foods though...
Are nuts and peanut butter ok? I know they have fat but is natural fat okay?
Same for apples and natural sugar fruits?
I know I should cut dairy out but is fat-free yogurt and skim milk alright?
I eat a lot of chicken and sometimes steak is this alright for what I want?

My goal is really just to drop the fat and get cut so I can then see how much I weigh and what weight class I would put myself in. If anyone has any suggestions on food/diet and/or boxing/exercise so I can attain my goal I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

    hey hows it goin..

i dont know too much about dropping heavy weight...

but if u join a boxing gym and say u want to pursue an amatuer career, and train hard at the gym on the bag and skipping, doin abs, and all sorts of stuff they do at ur gym... u will notice weight shedding.. boxings the best work out in the world, if u wanna lose weight alone, boxings the way to go.. and since u want to actually pursue an amatuer career and have the passion for it.. boxing definetly seems for you... its all about mental focus and dedication. do it man, do it hard lolol. peace
