Headguard rules

So is there any kind of rule about the size of the headguards because I keep seeing these weird ass headguards which are more like helmets, for example this one;

Is that AIBA sanctioned because if so that's just pathetic. I know amateur boxing is more heavily based on points rather than pro' boxing but that kind of headguard would just present a situation where you have no reason to really fear a headshot at all. The gap doesn't even look big enough to fit a glove in so your entire face is protected with a barrier. The only thing is possibly is an uppercut. Surely AIBA must recognise that pain does effect the outcome and somewhere wearing that against someone who's wearing a standard guard has the advantage of decreased fear for safety. So, is that allowed in amatuer boxing matches?

In the US it is not. But they arent bad for training if y ou have had nose breaks or a deviated septum.

Cotto and several other fighters wear them so they dont get injured sparring before a fight and lose money.

headgear has to meet the specifications of the amature boxing rules.

the head gear you are seeing is for non-amature competition.

the only way the headgear is allowed in competition is if it says USA boxing approved on the side. or im guessing for any other sanctioning system it says its approved by them. i donno if USA boxing is the only amateur boxing sanction.

The headgear you posted is training headgear. It's worn by many pros and also by many people who are often cut or get facial damage during sparring. The bar's purpose it prevent punches from making direct contact with the face. The only headgear you can wear during amatuer bouts is AIBA/USA Boxing approved headgear. It's just plain basic headgear. Example:
