I had a stress fracture of one of the metatarsals in my right foot earlier this year, it took about 4weeks before i could run on it for any sort of distance, then about another week before it stopped aching after, running , jumping rope etc..

Was a ****ing pain in the arse but all better now! Hopefully your shins will heal quicker if you try not too put to much pressure on them!

    Hope this helps bro.

Thanks man. I'm going to substitute my running and jump rope with just more time swimming. I'll see how my shins feel in a month, like the doctor said.

You may have to look at your footwear for running. There are special trainers you can get to reduce problems with shin splints. I they're called motion control. I've heard shin splints are caused when your feet over pronate. I have no idea what that means exactly lol But I used to get shiun splint real bad and I've had to change my running style which has reduced the pain.
