Weight transfer during the left hook.

Which direction should you transfer your body weight while delivering the left hook. My trainer tells me it's best (as an orthodox fighter), to transfer my weight toward my right foot. But, I've read that some prefer to transfer the weight directly forward. Which is most proper?
Also, is there any way I can improve my speed on my hook?? I think my speed on my jab and cross are sound, but my hook feels really laggy. Thanks!

Transfer it to your left knee when you bend. You should get maximum power when you come back up and swing.

Speed on hook can be tweaked by making it short and compact.

I wont say this with full confidence as I know I could be wrong, but I believe you transfer most of the weight over to the right, with some movement forward. I always believe a series of left, right, hooks are pursely awesome when done right, it will truly shake the other person as they are just getting hit left, right, left, right , it will tire them quickly, hurt them and drive you forward towards a knock down as it would certainly disorientate them to move their head in such a motion repeatedly. I would say a cross hit would drive forward though.

its transfer from left to right, and twist your front left foot
or at least thats what im told
          however there are different methods
and it depends on proximity of opponent and context

spot on, then if you were to follow with a straight right you would push off your right foot (back foot).
