olympic drills/punchout drills on the heavy bag are best for building punching stamina imo. It teaches you to work through the lactate build up in your muscles. My routine is

1-2 combination on the heavy bag, as many punches as possible at head height for

60 seconds followed by 10 pushups
30 seconds followed by 10 pushups
15 seconds followed by 10 pushups.

I do this routine 3 times over the course of a work out. Highly effective

    Focus on speed and power

I'll work out for an hour and just stagger those 3 sets over over that period. Always make sure I make one my very last set of the workout though. Its a great way to finish.

As far as heavy bag routines go, you could do something like this

1 x punchout drill (discussed in previous post)
        3 x 3mins focus on technique
        3 x 1min focus on power
3 x 3min normal (combos movement etc, just like you would in a fight)
        1 x punchout drill

each set followed by 10 pushups on your knuckles then 30 seconds rest. THat should work up a sweat. Speed bag and double end bag or also importnant tools you should be using in an overall bag workout

medicine ball workouts which your probably know are great and most boxing gyms have a 45 laying around http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU1m-6OeH8o watch this video and make a routine using the 45 lbs weight trust me it works.... Its functional strength boxers who have evolved in the weight room win on fight night.. Lift legs it elevates e your testosterone which will make for more punching endurance.

It's just that I've been doing tons of press-ups, pull ups, dips, situps, rowing, etc.etc. And I'm just not sure, lacking advice, that it is making my punching endurance any better? Can anyone confirm if they do?

Also, does anyone have any drills/excersises that have proven brilliant for improving punching endurance THAT ARENT BAG RELATED. Ofcourse, I do tons of bagwork but I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do at home to improve the length I can punch for.

Pretty confusing I know, If you have any answers dont hesitate.
