can someone please tell me where the solar plexus is locaed and how affected it is to hit someone there as I have never been hit there

Two quick easy ways to find out:
    1. hit yourself in the stomach area and find out.
    2. go google > images > "solar plexus"

Strange that you never been hit there though. It kinda gives you difficulty to breathe. It's basicly a compact network of nerves.

The solar plexus is right below the breastbone, the "hollow" under your ribcage. it's a network of nerves that is technically located behind the stomach, but you can hit it with a straight punch or uppercut to the midsection.

It is usually defended by your opponent's elbow and abdominal muscles, and it's very hard to land a clean shot. However, if you can hit him cleanly with a hard uppercut when his abs are relaxed or tired, it can cause the diaphragm to spasm, resulting in inability to breathe.

An easier target is the liver, which is located on the right side. The liver's nerve plexus is located in the "hole" between his abs and obliques. The liver's nerve plexus, being on the right side, is very vulnerable to a left hook for this reason. A heavy hook to the liver will drop someone to his knees as quickly as if you'd kicked him in the nuts.

Being a southpaw, I like to slip a right cross to the outside, and if he's leaning forward or overextending, I'll drive a short, strong-side hook into the liver.

If, God forbid, I ever have to use boxing on the street, I'm going to the body. I don't think anyone who hasn't boxed has any idea how bad a bodyshot actually hurts.

I was punched in the liver once, right in the middle of a main road and couldn't get up. I had to use every ounce of strength I had to get out of the road to the pavement.

It took everything I had to get up off the canvas after getting hit in the liver the first time. You can't appreciate it until it happens to you. . . .

Damn right. An out of shape, overweight drinker with an attitude would think twice after an uppercut to the solar plexus where he has no abs muscles to help him.
