i gotta say, i wasn't expecting much when i ordered them. i just wanted a light, cheap shoe, and i figured i could tape around the ankles if i needed to. when they came in the mail, they were pretty much what i expected- a light, cheap shoe that i would probably have to tape around the ankles.

trained with them today, and i gotta say i'm pretty damn impressed. for $50 you can't go wrong with these bad larrys. i found that instead of lacing up the top two notches, i can just use the extra lace to wrap around my ankle. this gives surprisingly good support, and i actually did not have to use tap.

the sole is nice. it's right on the ground so you can really feel the mat. i didn't have any trouble driving off the canvas or moving around when i was hitting the mitts. they seemed to have pretty good traction. i felt really good bouncing around in them.

i don't expect these things to last for 10 years, but they seem like they're made pretty well. obviously i can't comment on the durability yet.

i wear anywhere between a size 9.5 and 10.5 in sneakers. these only come in whole size. i went with the 10s, and they fit perfect.

overall, a nice, light, simple shoe that doesn't break the bank. i back 'em.

They look really cool too, I am thinking about getting a new pair of shoes, I was thinking about the Jordans that Roy Jones Jr. wears, I saw them in Everlasts catalouge and they look comfortable, but they are too expensive, these look like exactly what I'm looking for, good review as well.

yeah, give em a shot. they are cheap enough where if you feel like you need something different in a few months you didn't break your bank on them.

the jordans are a totally different style of shoe. aside from costing more than twice as much, they are not made for an on-your-toes, constantly moving type of fighter. most people on here say there are very heavy, but i'd imagine they have great ankle support and are comfy. i'm sure they're awesome for more flat-footed style of fighters.

it depends on what you're looking for in a shoe...

i like to move around alot, bouncing around the canvas not into just standing and firing, so I guess the Jordans are probably not for me, thanks for the insight I would have regretted purchasing them.
