man i dont understand all the things you wrote but you should fight, the more you fight you get better. i have a friend that lost his first 8 fights all in a row and believe it or not hes a great boxer now just from gettin all that experience fightin every week. if you let fear keep you movin from the fights i dont think you gonna get better doing that.

here in Mexico not showing up to a fight is like the worst thing in the world and its really disrespectful to your trainer and your team.

Here's my philosophy on the matter:

People here have said "stop being a *****" ignore them, you're not being a *****, you're being a human. Our natural mindset is not to get hurt. Problem is, in a fight if you're not willing to get hit then you're not going to fair too well, you'll get scared and you'll then focus on not getting hit and not doing the damage, this will bring on the opposite of what you want - meaning, you get hurt. Exactly what you said happens would happen, you freeze up. The old saying "fight or flight" seems suitable. From what you've said, I doubt it's ability, it's the fact you don't want to get hurt, meaning, your mindset is the problem. Worse thing about this is it's hard to change. But here, whilst everyone on here calls you a ***** and telling you to man up let me share a little fact with you, when Mike Tyson was still an amatuer he would sometimes cry before a match, he was scared. In fact, there's a video of him crying outside before a fight, he went in and set a record, knocking him out in 8 seconds. Holyfield always admitted of the fear he felt before a fight. People get scared, people don't want to get hurt, but you have to overpower this with determination. Instead of looking at it like "I don't want to do it, I will get hit" think "I have to do it well if I don't want to get hit". Get me?

Boxing isn't for everyone, some people don't like to fight, some people do but don't want to get hurt themselves etc. Ever heard of the Knights Templar? Historical elite troops who would often slaughter those who were seen to be undefeatable. The reason Saladin feared them was because they acknowledged they could die, they therefore let go of the fear of death. That doesn't mean they were suicidal, just means they fought to survive but knowing they could die. Remember this, you fight to not get hit, but acknowledge that you can, and most likely will, get hit and it will most likely hurt, but move on. That's really the best advice I can give you, your overwhelming concern is your problem. Training wont fix that. Only yourself and/or experience may.

      This advice is good.
I am having a similar problem at the moment, just work through it and it will all come good.
      Good luck

I agree with others, you are giving up too soon and not accepting that you need to stick with it and work harder. Getting smacked around and not having all the tools is part of learning, you pick up things and sparring more will improve your skills because you will know how to react and in a calmer and more calculated way. Stick with it and you will improve. Anybody can punch a bag, but when you can move and be slick out there, that is something special, and it takes time.

Dont give up man, your "freezing up" could also be lack of focus it happens to me sometimes when im sparring, i'l be in the ring but thinking about something else and litteraly forget what i was doing and freeze up for a few seconds until i clue in theirs someone trying to punch me in the face. When you wanna try and do is get in the right mind set, get motivated think about what your doing have a game plan and only have BOXING on your mind. i started doing that and the freezing up ended.
