don't worry bout it, the more you skip you'll just be able to do it, plus its a slightly lazy way to skip

What do you need a video for? If you've been skipping for even a short time and can do most of the basic stuff you should be able to pick this one up very quickly and easily.

A basic summary is you are skipping twice on the same foot. So, right, right, left, left. You just do a small kick (more just putting your other foot to the front really) when the skipping foot touches the ground the second time around. So, right, right (left kick), left, left (right kick)...and repeat. It's easy. You just need to spend a little bit of time working on the coordination and getting the flow of it happening.

The only reason you even kick to the front with your non skipping foot is to keep the flow going so you don't have one leg just hanging there doing nothing while the other is jumping. It's simply to keep the flow going and should actually come naturally as you practice it and get the coordination right. Once you get it you won't be able to understand how there is any other way of doing it.

Also, don't think of it as a kicking skip/step thing. Just think of it as a double skip. If you are too focused on the kicking leg you'll struggle to get the coordination right. Focus on the skipping leg and the little kick thing will just come naturally as you get the timing right.

You should progress naturally from two feet together skips, to one leg skips to running/lifting your knee up (like marching or running while lifting your knee), then the single leg double skip aka kick/boxers skip (just jumping twice on the same leg instead of once) then move to the double jumps, crosses etc all the 'advanced' crap.

Just practice man, you'll pick it up in no time. You don't need a video.

tbh i only started skipping when i started boxing (6 weeks ago) and ive pretty much got most of the skipping down (except repeated double skips and running on the spot), anyone got any tips for them?
