you may be out of breath because you are not using your lungs to full capacity. you could learn how to gently stretch and loosen the chest and rib area - this lossens the lungs. you could also learn how to breath using more of your lungs. most people only use about 30 - 40% of thier total lung capacity.

you could also learn to not tense your muscles unnescessarliy. doing that increases the amount of oxygen required to make your body function and will leave you short of breath if you can't fulfill your body's requirements.

i also practice exercises to increase oxygen conversion and breathing efficiency.

        bro that is totally wrong

then u throw punches u should blow hard out the mouth, and try to always inhale through the nose.. but if u are in a clinch or a safe spot taking a deep breath through the mouth is what i do.. but ya, if u can learn to inhale through the nose n out the mouth i think itll help u a lot

i hope you are not opening your mouth, even a little, when breathing out. unless, you actually want a dislocated jaw.

besides, the guy is not totally incorrect. the more effort you put into breathing out, the more you waste.

your probably new to the fights and it will take time. But once you learn to truely relax while fighting youll have plenty of wind.

Also, whenever the ref calls stop or break or you get a good distance between you and your opponent you should fill those lungs up deep.

It takes time but youll get it if you want it...............Rockin'
