  • No boxing gyms...

    Hey guys,

I've been interested in starting boxing for about six months now- problem is, there are no boxing gyms in my town!!! (Syracuse, NY) Some are listed in the YellowPages but I looked for them or called and they're all closed down now. So I don't know where to begin. If anyone here is from the CNY area or Syracuse...maybe you tell me of a good gym that might actually exist.

some other gyms might offer it on the side, cause when i lived in Sydney australia my gym was a kung fu place in the middle of china town, they produced 4 boxing and 2 australian kick box champions and K1 fighters from europe trained there before going to Japan for their fights while the signage outside just said "Jin Wu Kun" so shop around for what ever is available is my suggestion...

Yeah, that's always an idea. There's an MMA place right near me, but I'm not interested in that, just regular boxing. I know those programs cover striking skills and such, but I'm not into bjj or grappling

if they have heavy bags and all then i would do it, so you can do your own work out after.

there are boxing gyms in syracuse.

call your police athletic league, park and rec office, and ymca to see what they offer.

if all else fails, drive to rochester to train.
