I had my first amature fight at the John Hennelly Boys Club in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. It is no longer called that now its the Front Street Gym. Mickey Grandinetti who trained Jimmy Young was my trainer. It was a old school philly gym with some great club fighters. I guess there was about 100 spectators and it was a great experience. I won a unanimous decision

local community centre, about 150-200 spectators. I was scared ****less and was exhausted before the first bell, lost by decision!

Charity smoker at my gym, first fight of the night, about 200 people. Scariest thing I've ever done. Ever. Waiting at the altar for my wife was only a fraction as scary. I threw up so much the two days before the fight that I nearly switched weight classes.

        Kicked his ass.

Otis Air Base in Cape Cod. Very scary getting in there was guys with guns and **** and you needed to drive around some cones like an obstacle course. It was some buliding on a basketball court. Chairs were around the ring, probably like 50-100 people tops, if that. Not many people, very small ring. All the competiton ****** and everyone from my team won that day. I fought some short tubby kid who had no idea how to box lol. After the fights there was a cookout and they served us all burgers and hot dogs. Then they gave us t-shirts saying we particiapted in the "Clash in the Cape." It was a good time.
