My Routine
I hardly ever participate in boxing but I train a lot for general fitness. My daily routine is as follows, on weekends I usually do more but stick to the same sort of routine.
Onc a week I will get up in the morning and run 8kms (just over 5 miles)
After school I will start by warming up and then jumping rope for 30mins-45mins.
After the jump rope I'll do 150 crunches, varying between variations of crunches.
Then I'll do around 100 press ups, usually sets of 20-25
Then 150 crunches before dinner.
After dinner I'll start by warming up again and doing 150 more crunches.
Jump rope 12 x 3 minute rounds with minute rest between each round.
Another 100 press ups
75 suppinated chin ups, sets of 15-20 for the first 50, 5 sets of 5 dead hang pull ups. Then 25 pronated chin ups, 15 regular and 10 dead hang.
Another set of 150 crunches
*Depending on time left in the day I may do more press ups and go for an evening 3 mile run if I haven't ran in the moring*
It's not really a boxing specific routine but it's good for general fitness and could be adapted for a boxer.Last edited by Ell; 02-01-2008, 02:37 PM.

its skool holidays right now in australia so ive eased u on training a little but as im fighting at the end of march and i go bak to skool on tuesday im back into my usual routine which is like,
monday, wedensday and possibly one day at another gym for sparring are gym days
gym work is 4x3 min rounds skipping, some footwork drills, light contact technical sparring, padwork, sparring, fitness drills/bagwork and then abs and warm down
at home i usually run on tuesdays, thursdays, fridays and on saturday i do bagwork, shadowboxing, floor to ceiling ball etc push ups..... i sometimes run on gym days if ive gotten to bed on time and feel good, i usually run either a 4km track at about 12 kmph (i worked it out) or a 7.5 km track at about 10 kmph on sundays i just rest or ride my bike around with friends i also ride around on other days for a bit of fun and additonal fitness to my boxing stuff

nearly everyday, in 3 min rounds at the gym but for about 20 minutes non stop at home, doing double jumps, cross overs moving around like you would in the ring while skipping lifting your feet alternately off the ground etc..usually at a medium to fast pace
