well... that was a humbling experience. I'm a 15 year old heavyweight and theres not many people for me too spar with that are my age and weight, so my coach had a buddy that he used to spar with at the gym spar with me. THe man was like 40, had a gut but hit like a ****ing tank. I was gassed in like 2 rounds. Oh well I will spar him again on friday and then again next week.

I do think that my experience was out of the norm. When guys come to our gym, we let them set the pace. No sense in beating someone up during training. Unless they're ****s.

All i konw is our trainers and the visiting trainers just keep on shouting "you're here to learn!" "you're hear to learn!"

When I went to a different gym to spar, they put me in with a guy who was around 5'9, 210lbs and pure muscle and I'm 5'11, 175lbs. The best was he was sparring some other guy while I was waiting to get in with him and he dropped the poor kid which made me feel great about getting in next naturally. I finally get in there and he's going light for a minute and then all of a sudden I'm getting caught with these ridiculous left hooks and he ended up busting my nose open and I had this big ****ing bruise for like 4 days. He didn't put me down but that's only because his trainer stopped after he caught me with 4 brutal hooks. I was all tore up though from them and the best was as I'm leaving the gym that night, I like on the wall and there is this dudes picture...he was a golden gloves champ at one point....**** me.

ive sparred people who try & take your head off before but u have to be prepared for that with some people, in my experience which is'nt all that much it is best to keep your right hand up at all times use your jab use good footwork to slide out to the side its obviously much harder than it sounds but if the guy is coming forward so aggressive u obviously need to hit him real hard to say show some respect or make him miss & try & tire him out then u take advantage

I think working out of different gyms would be good. Sparring the same guys over and over isnt a challenge it becomes a cake walk if you do it enough. At my gym different trainers bring in fighters from their gyms and we all **** out. Becomes just one big round robbin session.
