  • Meals Throughout the Day

What meals do you recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner?(during training, of course) I just wanna have an idea of what to I have to get to eat. I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast [Tuna or grilled chicken or turkey w. swiss] sandwiches for lunch and white rice and beans wit steak or chicken (sometimes white rice with fish) or whatever when my mom cooks for dinner. I heard brown rice is good, but my peoples don't eat that in my house so I'mma try to make it myself.

If I could get some ideas on good food, I'd appreciate it very much.

yes stick with the tuna, you get almost 40 grams of protein if you eat the whole can. plus a good amounts in milk too. you want to eat high protein food if you can help it, the less you eat but the more protein you get is a good rule to go by.
what are you trying to accomplish? gain muscle weight? lose fat? maintain?
it all depends let me know ill try and help you out.

Aiight, I meant to mention my weight just forgot, lol. Right now I'm 5'11'', weighing around 140-155lbs. My weight changes alot because I don't keep a steady diet. But yeah, I'm tryna gain muscle weight, not necessarily gain weight. I just wanna stay in my weight range but I don't have much muscle as I need to, so I guess the only weight I'm gonna gain by developing my muscles.

i was in the same boat as you, im 5'11, and before this summer in like may i weighed 155. i wanted to put on weight for a few reasons, so i changed my diet. i started in may, and by august i was up to 205, 20% body fat. my diet was excellent. i was barely weightlifitng as well, just doing body weight stuff.

watch the calories, u want like 2500-3000 a day, and you gota do cardio to burn this off.
like i said eat high in protein, energy bars, weigh protein, **** like that
        LOTS of peanut butter too.
oh and those chef boyardee thigns are bomb they have like400 calories very hearty.

drink a gallon of water a day, KEY. you NEED water to elimate fat and fuel muscles to build.

yea, everyones different, my metabolism is real good so i dont worry about it alot, but im talking about it for calories. if ur concerned about sodium im not sure. i mean ur not really trying to gain weight rite? if i were u id try to get up to like 170ish unless u like to stay in your weightclass

if your concerned about slowing down,
im just as fast in the ring as i was at 160ish, but now i hit like a heavyweight. as long as your lean muscle it doesnt slow you. muscles are like the engines in a car. the bigger more powerful, the faster it goes. dont let movies fool u the big guys are fast too

Oh yeah, definitely. I don't wanna gain weight RIGHT NOW because I wanna move up in time. I might wanna start at Jr. welterweight, but definitely welterweight and move up if things go as planned.

yea see ive always been the small guy, but when i started training it was different i was almost 6 feet and 155ish, and my sparring partner was like 5'7 140 145. now im a heavyweight im the small guy all over again fighting guys alot bigger who can actually spar me now. something to get used to.

ive been doing martial arts forever, kempo and an offshoot of taekwon do. so im alot better at kickboxing then boxing
in kickboxing i use range alot more, so its better to be the taller guy with more reach. now its all out the window new gameplan

Yeah, learning to adapt to different styles and situations. That's wassup. But yeah, back to what you said, I aint really worried about losing speed if I gain weight, cuz I understand you don't lose speed if you gain weight as long as you aint sloppy wit it.

Thanks for your help, bro. I'm gettin' restless, gotta go to bed. We can continue discussing this tommorow. Have a good night.
