  • left hook issues

I am starting to wonder if I am arm punching my left hooks. Does anyone use any arm or shoulder movement to throw the left hook or is all in the torso twist. I know its subject to situation but i was sitting at my desk at work wondering why on the bag lately it does not feel quite right and I think I figured it out. I will find out in 5 hours or so when I get to the gym but I have no patience..

I squat and tilt my body down and to the left and explode upward but not strait up. move toward your aponant when you throw it and end up with your back facing sideways. (that's for a hook to the body).

don't know how clearly I explained it but I hope it helps you out.

I tend to bend my knees and as I'm coming up turn my torso in a torquing motion and throw my left hook in a compacted motion.

        Time

it just comes with time, i remember when i learned to trow jabbs rights ablosutly fine but i wud neva left hook if just felt rong like arkward.

i started to not turn my wrist just b4 impact i was hitting with my thub facing celin if you get me, which you shudnt be, you shud turn your hand. anyway i felt comftable that way and stronger.

then we did a lesson on hooks and i practiced it and sudnly it began to feel natrual. diffrent technuqes work best for diffrent people so theres not much advice i can give.

try to imagine your stamping out a cigarette or squishing a bug with ur left foot, your left knee also needs to turn inmards. as you twist your body also. try to turn ur hand just b4 impact so palm is facing down thats how i lernt it. just practice

p.s it can work well after throwing right hand as you can load up.
