      +1. I've been dropped with 16's. And 18's, with a heavyweight behind them.

      At my gym, we must use 16 oz. gloves for sparring. Lightweights and below, and young'uns, use 14 oz. Heavyweights use 18 oz.

        yeah at my gym 16's are a must for all and some heavies use 18oz. I've yet to be dropped by 16's but i would never go as far to say 16's are pillows, and 18's hurt too when sparring heavies and your a welter.

          Its pointless to use anything below 16s in sparring, our Gym doesnt allow it, your sparring to learn, not to hurt your opponent

              In Russia 12oz is somewhat of a norm when sparring.
