In amateur fights, does it matter what you wear?

i was looking on the title site and the shorts and the jersys all together cost about 60-70 bucks..can i just wear and kind of shorts and any kind of tank top to the ring? or do they have to be boxing trunks??

u have to have boxing trunks, and a plain tank top. the colors dont matter so much in regular AM fights, jus the gloves, which they provide...

You can wear whatever you want in a 1 night event(and in some tournaments), just as long as the waistline is a contrasting color from the jersey.

u gotta wear trunks tho, u cant jus wear regular shorts.

man around my way ive seen kids get in the ring in dunlop volleys, a wife beater and some shorts grandma must have sown up. shouldnt matter IMO

That must be a regional thing then. In all my am fights Ive wore regular basketball shorts and a jersey.

thing is, i gotta order a headgear too and i was gonna order one from title..all the headgears on ringside are hella expensive
