Looked good there Versy, that was quite the brutal uppercut. Its the am's though and its all about getting the experience.

I dont know why he gave him a standing 8 but warned you to keep them up thats REALLY weird

its because he is obviously a decent ref. it was an iffy low blow, you couldn't tell. so he gave BOTH fighters the benefit of the doubt by giving the 8 count for vers and then warning vers for the other fighter's sake..

If it was a low blow, the ref followed the correct procedure. His mistake was ruling it a low blow, because it obviously wasn't.

I also think you were pushing the guy excessively, and the ref made the right call on that.

I know you hate the am's, especially since you can't seem to get a W (which it definitely looks like you should have got this time), but one thing that is obvious, at least to me, is that you need more am fights before turning pro. The reason I say this is that it's obvious you need the experience of real fight situations. Even if the guys you're sparring are much better than the guys you're fighting, sparring will NOT give you the same experience, especially mentally. You're making so many mistakes that are easy to correct in sparring, but once you get in a fight, the mindset is different and that stuff goes out the window. You need to learn to 'relax' mentally and do the right things, instead of just rushing blindly in and crowding the guy to the point where you're crowding a lot of your own punches, which is what happens in this fight. Instead of getting into the right distance, where YOUR punches are most effective, you get too close, and end up wrestling and pushing the guy around.

You can do the right things physically, but you need the fight experience to be able to do them mentally in a fight as well.

You say that age doesn't matter, so taking the time to get more am fights (and the invaluable expericence they provide) should be no problem. It'll be well worth it in the long run.

It was more of an rib shot, its hard to see from that angle, but I specifically remember doing that shot. I think the other guy did some acting also, but **** happens.

So right away the ref is on notice to make sure you don't butt heads. But you did good. Looks like you defently should have won. Some advice to fighters you study, If i were you I would also watch J.C.Chavez, especially if you're going to be in close quarters with a fighter.
The ref was on me alot more then just that round. He would give me weird looks when I was in the corner during break. They were telling me between rounds not to piss the ref off because alot of the judges are refs there selves.

What he doesn't get, see, is that a good solid hook to the body makes your balls jump up into your throat. If your balls aren't big enough to reach, then it FEELS like a low blow. But really, it's just your body's way of preserving itself. You shouldn't have been called for that.

                  Good stuff.
Yeah he lasted the last 2 by holding me once I got in and tried to throw, and 2min, 3rounds wont dont it. He was tired as hell because I kept hitting him with bodyshots whenever I could.

You looked real mean in there, and great bodyshot to knock him down for the 1st time. If you could make a lower weight would you try? cause if you fought smaller men who were shorter then your punchs would proberly finsh the fight.
I think I could make 141 for amateur.I just didnt try.I almost weighed in at 150 for the fight, and thats with eating and being on a 1200 calorie diet the whole time. I tried to gain more weight but I just gained 4 pounds at 155lbs.

Good advice.Thats what Jesse said.He said I just turned amateur in there because thats what I saw,and I was told just to keep punching.I saw the guy who I was facing literally 6 minutes before I fought,he was a tall ****er,but thats no excuse. I need to figure out how to relax myself more. My mind is what set it off. I just thought in my head, punch punch punch because it equals points.I did smother alot, another thing Jesse said.Because after the first round I hurt him with all the shots that I connected with that was mid-range.

What I need to also do is spar more of amateur style ppl.All the ppl at the new gym that I spar fight like a pro style.
Good advice once again. It was the same things I've been thinking, thanks.
