So I wasn't to happy with my performance. Dude has 20 pounds on me, but I should have moved alot more and not backing up into the ropes. But be that as it may..here it is, I got a bit Left Hook Happy too, since it just kept landing (round 2 i think) but I should have followed with combos.

Dude annoncing messed up our names, im in RED....critique away...as usually the good, the bad, and the ugly all welcome.

    Round 1

    Round 2

    Round 3

My immediate criticism is, you leave your jab out there way too long. Your guard is tight, though, and your weaves are good, and your strong-side hook is a good punch. It looked like you nailed his face squarely quite a few times in that first round; if that jab was snappier you'd have hurt his confidence.

Also, you tend to lean into your opponent when he presses you. I do the same thing. Stand straighter and take the fight to him with your feet. Easier said than done, though.

Good, though. How long have you been boxing?

Thanks fraidy, means alot comming from you...yep got a few things to work on. Your tips are well noted, thanks...I have been at it since June '06, have had about 4 smokers and I am looking to get my first Am fight in a few weeks. Things are a bit different in there when the other guy is my weight ...

What type of match was that? Just a fight for fun somewhere?

My gym does these, too; they're non-ranked, exhibition-type fights on an evening that's open to the public. Sparring, but full-contact -- no pulling your punches. We do them with other gyms from the area and the proceeds go to charity. There's usually a raffle and some other stuff, too -- fitness demos, etc.

At my gym, you have to have three of these under your belt before the trainers will even consider putting you in an amateur fight. My third is coming up on Nov. 10th. . . .

Ok,from what I see you need to spin when he corners you. He's a pressure/stalking fighter.(This is the style I use so I should know some ways around it)As you spin out when he has you pinned, throw a jab,and switch it up with a 1-2.When you guys are in close together.Use his body to help you spin off, therefore you're on the side of him at a safe distance, and he hasnt turned fully so hurry and throw a straight right on the side of his face.

Like I said, dont get caught in the corner, spin out and throw a jab or a 1-2. He'll either get angry and restless if you keep spinning out when he's trying to be aggressive and get in to hurt you.
