    Yoga

    Has anyone here ever tried doing to loosen up their muscles and become quicker and more nimble? I used to work out alot before I started boxing so my muscles are sometimes stiff and I can't move around as quickly as some of the guys in my weight class (light weight) who have practically no mass.

    not too sure yoga would improve speed. balance and flexibility certainly, but I'm not speaking from experience, just my understanding of the nature of yoga.

      then how does one gobout improving hand speed? i definitly need to lose muscle mass i know that b/c i weigh about 140 at 5'5" and i got barely any fat on me. i think a reason why i'm slow is because my muscles are stiff and all. any suggestions?

        pushups help a lot, especially if you throw in the clap push ups. also hit the speed bag. or just try drills on the heavy bag where you just throw a jab right combo, dont worry about power, just do it as fast as you can (accurately).

          hand speed drills

          1=jab
          2=cross
          3=hook
          4=uppercut
          (orthodox stance)

          1-2-1-2-1-2 - 6 sets
          4-3-4-3-4-3 - 6 sets
          2-3-2-3-2-3 - 6 sets
          (with 1-3 pound weights)
          ..then do the same thing with no weights.

          sometimes i do 4 punches instead of 6, and sometimes 8, or 10, AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. do this 3 times a week and u'll be good!

            Yoga exercise is pretty good if you got someone who knows it.

            THere is many misconcept of Yoga. I have tried it and it pretty hard to do.

            Yoga helps you breath better and streatch some of the muscle as well as as using you own body weight.

            Mastering Yoga help you control over you body pretty good from breathing to balance.

            but remeber there are many fake yoga trainer or simply not qualified
