    they dont build "power." they make u strong at lifting weights. power comes naturally and weight can help it along slightly, but to say they jus straight up build power is incorrect. look at old fighters that never lifted and they hit like mac trucks.

    anyway, if done correctly, no they wont decrease speed, they'll increase it...

      punchdrunk usually replies to these threads with points saying that weights do not affect speed..

      and speedkillz is right, if u use them.. they increase speed

                cheers fellas! for some reason i was told it would decrease speed as it builds muscle! i will get back to my weights this week!

                  also try and lift with explosiveness like if your doing bench press..slow on the way down and then explode..hope this makes sense!

                    Boxers need lean muscle. Since muscle weighs alot, if you get super buff you will most likly loose some speed & mobility. Best way to do it is, lift alot of weights at a set amount of weight, instead of increasing weight and lifting less. Thats just my take, i know some on you will disagree
