Will i loose muscle if i take this new job?

i mite be starting this new job soon which means il be cycling around 40 miles a day,
but iv been trying to gain a lot of muscle this year with very little cardio, am worried that this new job will be bad for my muscle gain because a lot of people think lots of cardio can shrink your muscle,
am not too bothered about losing muscle on my legs as they are already pretty big, its my upper body that am worried about, though i would'nt have thought cycleing would affect my upper body too much

anyone know if this will change much?

Keep your protein intake up, you'll be fine. What do you weigh now?

i checked my weight at the gym today and i was at 74kgs, am getting really inpatient with putting on more weight.
how long you think it would take to gain a stone of muscle, providing that am going to the gym and eating well, just roughly

Wowww a stone is a ****load of weight, youd be surprised. If you have any dumbells around try putting as close to 14 pounds on it (dont know what it is in kg) and pick it up. Its quite a lot to put on in muscle alone and if youre already impatient I think youll be in for a long wait. I hear from these boards that most people are lucky to put on a few pounds of muscle every few months or something like that.

You never know though everybody is different.

yeah, its just that so far this year iv gained 2 stone of muscle, but for the past few months iv only put on about 2kgs, and am pretty confident that am doing the right things to get my weight up, am not overdoing it, i think am doing the right amount, but really want my weight up, i just gotta be a bit more patient
