  • Which is harder mentally, running late at night or running early in the morning??

As in late I mean around 12 at night, and as early I mean like 5am. For the late night you could be physically tired, sleepy and sore from all the things you've done early that day, boxing, work, etc.

Then with running early you have to force yourself to get up,get a good stretch and run when your body doesnt want too and you're still tired, knowing you have a long day ahead of you after you run.

I voted early cos i always plan to go running early but it never happens. Probably cos i have bad sleeping habits i go to bed quite late and i need all the rest i can get.

I mostly run at night because thats the time when i dont really have much to do, plus when i get home it puts me to sleep nicely. I also like running at night cos i used to have really bad hair (the longest bushiest uncombed afro in the world) and i felt embarassed to run in the day lol cos all the kids used to call out "go afro-man" loool.

But yea for someone with bad sleeping habits like me its a lot harder. I think the hardest part for me is going to sleep early lol.

i think running at night cuz there are those nights where you just want to sleep but you gotta run and just going throughout the day takes the energy outta you but when i wake up in the morning i have all the energy cuz of the rest so i can run in the morning easier

definitely morning. if u can get up at the ass crack of dawn and run long and hard while everyone else is sleeping, thats something special, imo.

Morning easily. At night I'm usually all wound up from the day and tend to have more energy at night. When my alarm goes off at 5:30 i'm always wishing I had another hour or two of sleep and to think about busting my ass within 5 minutes of rolling out of bed can be exhausting in itself. To me it's pushing myself which is important in this sport. If I can make myself do this, then maybe I can push myself just a little harder when I'm training and thus begins the cycle of positive mental thinking.

What if you've been drinking and you get home, but you know you still gotta run at night. Think on that one.

Youve got a point but unless youre a pisshead theres less chances of it happening. Especially if youre training to be a boxer (i would imagine).

Serious athletes don't drink. Smart people don't drink, that ****'s for kids who want to cool. If I had a choice between going drinking and going running, I'm running.

No definitive answer. Some guys are morning people others are night. Be harder for me in mornings since I hate getting up early.
