Not at my gym no. I got it done cause well...i had to get it done. granted its not the most comfortable thing to have another man cup your balls but i'd prefer that than not get checked and wind up with testicular cancer

Tell your doctor about the cyst. You do not want to lie to your doctor, and you sure as hell don't want that sucker rupturing in a fight. If you have to have the surgery, get the surgery, and postpone the fight.

My doctor checks for blood in the urine and drugs; at my age (36, nearly 37) he does a heart workup, blood pressure, cholesterol, vision, a full chiropractic session (he's an osteopath) with X-rays of my neck (bone spurs and a narrow opening of one vertebra due to calcification from an old accident) before clearing me to fight. USA Boxing says this is the standard for Master's Division fighters and frankly, after putting as many hard miles on this old carcass as I have, I'd be nuts to not get checked out every year.

I also make a pre-emptive appointment for the first workday after a fight, BTW. It's really fun to tell his receptionist, "Nothing's wrong with me. . . yet. But I have a boxing match this Saturday, so expect contusions, muscle strains, and I'll probably need a spinal manipulation and a scrip for a handful of Vicodan."
