is there a difference between bag and training gloves

no i dont have slow hands.but 18 0z gloves are way bigger than 10 oz. there for a lot easyer to see and a lot easyer to block. 10 oz is the weight amature use in fights.

sometimes i spar with 18 ounce gloves, mostly 16, but i mix it up between 14, 16, and 18. nothin wrong with that. it will make u keep ur hands up better in an AM fight and will help with hand speed and crispness.

the padding is different between sparring / training gloves and bag gloves? i never knew that and to tell the truth i dont feel a difference. the only thing i can tell is my fist feels a LITTLE different in the bag gloves, but nothing that can hinder my performance using them sparring, so who knows...

Thats what my trainer said.I think he's sponsored by Everlast,cause thats all in his gym including the ring. So Im sure he knows. It is softer with sparring gloves on the first then it is with bag gloves. My bag gloves are hard.

You must be a hard hitter to get 18oz gloves,might wanna reconsider that.

wow 18 oz ? i have 14 oz and i already think those are pretty huge , and im a big guy ..... have you tryed them on ? are they confertable for you ?

no, its just I plan on fighting amateur...gotta fight on the 20 october. however when I first started training I just went out and bought a pair of gloves...140z. Ive been using them every since and anything other than that feels too light or too heavy. The gloves I spar in belonged to the gym(my gloves got the velcro straps so my trainer wont let me use them)and they weigh 160z and man I really feel that 2 oz. so I figure if I go ahead and start training with 180z's the 16's shouldnt bother me that much.

I also go running and shadow box with 1lb weighted gloves so the difference shouldnt be that huge.

everyone at my gym spars with 16 oz, it is hard at the start to keep your hands up, but soon you will get the muscles. The ones we use are rather ****house as well, very wide compared to the ones bought in by others to spar with. I was thinking of getting some 20 oz gloves to hit the bag with, but thats only about 600g or so, would it be better to just wear 1 kg hand weights and wear bag gloves instead or would that hurt your hands?
