i got 16oz gloves for sparring. So has my pal and a few other lads down the gym.

There alright. no difference really - i never found them to cut people, bruise people, hurt people anymore than any glove.

    They just got a reputation.

One thing i will say - they last long, look good - and have good padding around the hands. I've never had bruised hand or painful fist since having them.

reyes shouldnt for sparring, in sparring you are supposed to use heavier gloves. Kind of like swinging a bat with a weight on it to get maximim force when it actually is time to bat. Thats the only comparison i can make. Also reyes are known to be punchers gloves with very little padding and if your hands are fragile, they are most likely not for you.

I however use 16 oz Everlast gloves and 16 oz grant gloves for sparring. I do own a pair of 10 oz cleto reyes for my fights.

Cleto Reyes just carry a reputation many fighters spar with them at my gym. These are the 16 oz. gloves I wear while sparring http://www.rivalboxing.com/e/rs2v-e.html
I would have to say well worth the money they definitley compare to Grants and Reyes in the way of quaility but are more like Winning gloves in that they offer alot more protection and are really comfortable.
