I agree with speedkillz, theres really no secret to it just hard work.
I'd say remember to pace yourself in both your learning of the techniques and your actual physical training, you can't learn to box overnight. Secondly keep your eyes open to watch the other more experienced fighters, you can learn quite a bit from watching others train and fight, but thats mainly concerning the early days of training. Thirdly take the time to condition yourself i.e. fitness and strength training, its my opinion that badly conditioned fighters don't last long in the ring. Lastly and most important of all, have fun, it'll keep you training.

There is no exception. You need to get to a gym, And work relentlessly on your fundementals. Stress Defense. And perfect the basics. And prepare for a long journey. It takes years as in any martial art to become a skilled technician.

Chin down. Keep your defence tight. Never lose your temper. Always train your hardest.

Proberbly the best advice i got when i started sparring - don't be ashambed to call time if your hurt. Nobody ever learnt anything by being beaten up. Be sensible.
