i know it sounds childish but jumping on a trampoline will give you balance and an extremely strong core

Can I ask why you don't want to skip rope? Skipping helps not only your balance, but your coordination, rhythm, and endurance.

If you want a balance exercise to use IN ADDITION to skipping, you can't beat a one-legged squat, IMO. Start by using a ski pole, chair, or similar for balance.

I like the first position of planche, as well. Also called a tuck planche or a half planche.

This guy is doing pushups in tuck planche -- I'm not there, yet.

Get into that first position and hold it as long as you can.

Weighted squats and cleans help your balance considerably, also.

marciano also, he went for a long walk every night, and ran several miles in the morning

I hate skipping rope so I use tire.

Various tire(the tire got to be big though) jumps from one side to another, on one leg ot with both legs or switching positions.
