  • I wanna be MADE into a boxer -_-

i was flipping through channels and i came across an MTV MADE episode where some girl wants to be made into a boxer. thing is, she only had 6 weeks to train before she had her first fight =P

isnt 6 weeks for begginers to train for their first fight a bad thing?

    heres how it went,

"Yazmin is the class clown who quits when things get tough. While her classmates have been racking up achievements, Yazmin feels like she's accomplished nothing. Now she wants to be MADE into a boxer to prove she's more than just a "girlie goofball.

Yazmin's coach is Cristy "Code Red" Terhman, the top-ring contender for the women's light and middle-weight title. It's Cristy's job to get Yazmin ready for her first match in six weeks. Cristy finds that training Yazmin to compete is going to be tough because Yazmin just won't take things seriously.

When Cristy has to leave to train for a professional fight, "Hurricane" Sammy takes over as Yazmin's coach. Sammy pushes Yazmin hard enough to cause her to pass out. But once Cristy's back, she won't give Yazmin a break. Cristy brings a sparing partner in for Yazmin. Yazmin backs into a corner and yells, "I quit, I quit," but Cristy won't let her.

After a lot of preparation and training, Yazmin's set to box a girl who's been boxing longer than she has, Kristie Byorek. During the fight, Yazmin gets tired in the first round, does great in the second round, and keeps it close in the third round. Though Yazmin doesn't win her first boxing match, her friends have seen a difference in her. Yazmin's been MADE."

Whatever gets someone motivated, should be your response. Some people need to lean on another's shoulder, and have support. It takes alot of guts, moreso than I think alot of people on here would have, to go onto national TV and say "Hey, I want to be a boxer".

After my first 30 minutes of being with a trainer I wanted to pass out and puke. She's got my respect. Especially since her trainers didn't let her give up.

True boxing is a tough tough sport. But still the best tennis players all started when they were under six years old so you can't really deny that either.
